# Text the Assistant (SMS)

Your deals don't stop when you leave your desk. Link your mobile number once and you can **text DocJacket a question about your transactions** — from a showing, the car, or anywhere — and get an answer right back as a text. No app, no login.

Texting the assistant is included on DocJacket paid plans. Replies count toward your monthly SMS allotment (see **Settings → SMS**).

## Set it up (once)

1. Go to **Settings → SMS**.
2. In the **Text the assistant** card, enter your mobile number and choose **Send code**.
3. Enter the 6-digit code we text you. That's it — your number is linked.

The card then shows **the DocJacket number to text**. Save it as a contact so it's easy to reach.

## What you can ask

Text plain-language questions — no special format. For example:

- *"What's left on 123 Oak St?"*
- *"Which files close this week?"*
- *"What are the deadlines on the Smith deal?"*
- *"What's missing on 45 Maple Ave?"*

Ask a follow-up in the same thread and the assistant keeps your last deal in mind (*"what about the inspection?"*).

## Get a weekly recap

Text **`weekly report`** (or *recap* / *summary*) any time for an instant rundown of your book of business:

- Active deals
- What's closing this week (and the next couple of weeks)
- Files closed and new files this week
- Anything overdue that needs attention

## Good to know

- **It answers questions; it doesn't send anything on your behalf.** The assistant reads your deal data and replies — it won't email a client or change a deal.
- **Answers are kept short for text.** For the full picture, open the deal in the DocJacket app.
- **Stop any time.** Reply **STOP** to unlink your number and opt out, or **HELP** for help. You can also unlink from **Settings → SMS**.
- **This is different from your business SMS number.** The number you *text the assistant* is DocJacket's assistant line — separate from the dedicated business number your clients see for deal texts.

## Troubleshooting

- **No reply?** Make sure you're texting the number shown on the **Text the assistant** card (not your business number), and that your mobile is still linked in **Settings → SMS**.
- **"Not linked" reply?** Your number isn't linked yet — link it in **Settings → SMS**.
