Group Text Assistant
Most of a deal happens in a group text — the buyer's agent, the lender, the title company, and your client, all talking in one thread on their phones. The important parts (an inspection time, a request for a signed addendum, a moved closing) get buried in ordinary back-and-forth, and later you re-type them into the transaction by hand.
The Group Text Assistant puts DocJacket in that group text as a quiet participant. It captures every message onto the deal, shows the whole thread as one merged conversation on the transaction's Texts tab, and when it spots real work — a task someone asked for, a date someone confirmed — it proposes it for you to approve. Nothing changes on the deal until you say so.
Think of it as an AI notetaker for your transaction group texts: you keep texting the way you already do, and DocJacket keeps the record.
The Text the Assistant (SMS) feature lets you ask DocJacket questions about a deal from your phone. The Group Text Assistant is the next step: instead of messaging DocJacket separately, you include it in the group text where the deal is already happening, and it observes.
What it does
- Captures — every participant's message lands on the deal, with who sent it and when.
- Shows — the whole group reads as one color-coded, two-sided conversation on the Texts tab, each person named.
- Proposes — when a message contains a real action or date, DocJacket adds an approval-gated proposal in your Review queue (and inline in the thread), with the exact quote as evidence.
- Stays quiet — ordinary chatter ("thanks," "sounds good") produces nothing, and DocJacket never replies in the group.

What it does not do (yet)
- It doesn't reply in the group. DocJacket observes and alerts you privately; it never sends a message into the client-facing thread.
- It doesn't change the deal on its own. Every task and date is a proposal you approve or dismiss.
- It reads action items and dates only. Answering questions in the thread and detecting status changes ("we're under contract") are on the roadmap, not live today.
- It joins when you start the group — it isn't added to an iMessage thread that's already going.
