Seats and team members
DocJacket uses per-seat pricing — but not everyone you work with needs a paid seat. This is the most common point of confusion, so here's how it works:
- A seat is a team member who logs in to run transactions — you, your coordinators, an assistant. On the free plan you get up to 2 team members at no cost; on a paid plan, each active team member is a seat.
- You only pay for active seats. Add or remove seats anytime from Settings → Team Members, and billing adjusts automatically.
- Portal guests are always free. The clients and agents you share a portal link with do not count as seats — no matter how many.
So "is adding an agent free?" depends on how you add them:
- As a portal recipient (you just want to give the agent visibility into their deals) → always free. Invite them to the Client Portal.
- As a logged-in team member (they'll work inside DocJacket) → they use one of your free team-member slots on the free plan, or a paid seat on a paid plan.
See Understanding Roles for what each team member can do.
Current pricing

Early-bird pricing
If you signed up during the early-bird period, your locked-in rate stays the same for as long as you maintain your subscription. This rate is grandfathered and won't increase.
