Subtasks
Some tasks are better broken into smaller steps. Subtasks let you do that while keeping everything grouped under the parent task.
Adding subtasks
- Click a task to open its detail drawer
- Open the Subtasks section
- Click Add
- Enter the subtask name
- Click Add Subtask
If the parent task already has subtasks, the section opens with the progress count visible.
Tracking progress
- Check off subtasks directly in the drawer as you complete them
- The parent task tracks progress automatically with counts like "2/5"
- A checked subtask is shown with completed styling
- Subtasks can have their own due dates when they are created from templates or automation
Tips
- Use subtasks for multi-step processes like "Order title search" → "Review title commitment" → "Clear title exceptions"
- Subtasks are great for tasks that multiple people contribute to
- Completing all subtasks doesn't automatically complete the parent task — you still check off the parent when everything's done
