Subtasks

Some tasks are better broken into smaller steps. Subtasks let you do that while keeping everything grouped under the parent task.

Adding subtasks

  1. Click a task to open its detail drawer
  2. Open the Subtasks section
  3. Click Add
  4. Enter the subtask name
  5. Click Add Subtask

If the parent task already has subtasks, the section opens with the progress count visible.

Tracking progress

  • Check off subtasks directly in the drawer as you complete them
  • The parent task tracks progress automatically with counts like "2/5"
  • A checked subtask is shown with completed styling
  • Subtasks can have their own due dates when they are created from templates or automation

Tips

  • Use subtasks for multi-step processes like "Order title search" → "Review title commitment" → "Clear title exceptions"
  • Subtasks are great for tasks that multiple people contribute to
  • Completing all subtasks doesn't automatically complete the parent task — you still check off the parent when everything's done
