Task Templates

Task templates are pre-built checklists you can apply to any transaction. They save you from creating the same tasks over and over.

Applying a template

  1. Open a transaction's Tasks tab
  2. Click Apply Template
  3. Browse or search for the template you want
  4. Click to apply it

The template's tasks are added to the transaction with priorities, due date offsets (calculated from your anchor date), and any linked email templates already configured.

Creating a template

  1. Go to Templates in the sidebar
  2. Navigate to Task Templates
  3. Click New Template
  4. Add tasks with:
    • Task name and description
    • Priority level
    • Due date offset (e.g., "5 days before closing", "3 days after contract")
    • Assignee role
    • Linked email template (optional)
  5. Save the template

Tips

  • Create templates for each transaction type you handle (residential purchase, commercial lease, etc.)
  • Include due date offsets relative to key dates — DocJacket calculates actual dates when the template is applied
  • You can apply multiple templates to the same transaction if needed
  • After applying a template, you can still add, remove, or modify individual tasks
