Listings
Listings are managed through Transactions. The old standalone Listings route now sends you to the Transactions page filtered for listing-type records.
Finding listings
- Open Transactions
- Filter the transaction type to Listing
- Open the listing record you want to work on
Creating a new listing also starts from the transaction creation flow with the listing transaction type selected.
Working a listing
A listing record uses the same transaction workspace: overview, contacts, documents, tasks, messages, notes, and reports. Listing-specific details appear inside the transaction when the record is a listing.
Turning a listing into a sale or purchase
A listing and a purchase (or sale) are the same kind of record — a transaction — distinguished only by its Type (Listing, Purchase, or Sale). So to turn a listing into a sale or a purchase, you don't create a new deal or copy anything: you just change the Type of the existing record, and it keeps all of its contacts, documents, key dates, tasks, and history.
- Open the listing from Transactions (filter the type to Listing if you need to find it).
- Change the transaction's Type from Listing to Purchase or Sale.
That's it — it's the same record, now tracked as a purchase or sale. Nothing is duplicated and nothing is lost.
Because it's one record and not two, there's no separate listing left behind. If you later need it to be a listing again — for example the deal fell through and it's going back on the market — change the Type back to Listing and set its status back to an active listing status. See Cancelling or Closing a Transaction for the full "deal fell through" flow.
Tips
- Use transaction filters instead of looking for a separate Listings page.
- Use checklists and required document lists that are built for listing workflows.
- Keep listing documents and disclosure packages in the same Documents tab as the rest of the transaction files.
